The Nationals’ Member for Shepparton District, Kim O’Keeffe, is encouraging local football and netball clubs to work with their councils to secure funding through the latest round of the Country Football and Netball Program.
Grants of up to $250,000 are available to support upgrades to regional sporting facilities.
“Regional councils can now apply for these grants, and I encourage our local clubs to contact their councils with a proposal,” Mrs O’Keeffe said.
Mrs O’Keeffe highlighted the importance of the funding for the Shepparton District, where many clubs have been struggling to maintain and improve their facilities due to limited resources.
“Local clubs are the heart of many of our communities and provide a space for people to stay active and build strong bonds,” Mrs O’Keeffe said.
“However, they are often short of the funds needed to maintain and upgrade their facilities, which is why this grant is so crucial.
“I am more than happy to provide letters of support for any local clubs seeking funding through this program.”
Applications close on Monday, 30 September 2024.
