Nationals Member for Shepparton District, Kim O’Keeffe, is calling on local organisations to take a step towards improving road safety by applying for the Transport Accident Commission’s (TAC) 2024 Road Safety Grant Program.
This initiative opens the door to support community groups and organisations to develop and implement effective community-based road safety projects within the Shepparton District.
“There has never been a greater need for road safety,” Ms O’Keeffe said.
“Each year, we see the devastating impact of road accidents on families and communities.
“Through the TAC Road Safety Grant Program, we have an opportunity to improve to educate and promote effective road-safety measures across our region.”
The program offers two types of funding, Support Grants of up to $50,000 and Collaboration Grants of up to $150,000.
Eligible organisations include incorporated associations, community trusts, registered not-for-profits or charities, and social enterprises that have not previously received funding for the proposed project from the TAC.
“My office is ready to support eligible applicants through the process and provide letters of support where needed,” Ms O’Keeffe said.
