The Nationals’ Member for Shepparton District, Kim O’Keeffe, is urging local organisations to take advantage of two key grant programs that are now open to support veterans and recognise their service.
The Veterans Capital Works Grant Program provides funding of up to $50,000 to help upgrade buildings and facilities used by organisations that assist veterans and their families. These improvements ensure veterans have access to safe, modern and welcoming spaces to receive support and stay connected within their communities.
Meanwhile, the Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour Program continues to support not-for-profit organisations to conserve, protect and enhance local memorials, honour rolls and avenues of honour, ensuring these important tributes remain lasting symbols of service and sacrifice.
“Honouring the service and sacrifice of those who defended our freedoms is a responsibility shared by all of us.
“These grants help local communities provide that legacy and ensure it is preserved for future generations,” Ms O’Keeffe said.
Funding under the memorial grant programs is available in two stages:
- Stage One: Grants of up to $10,000 for planning and design work.
- Stage Two: Grants of up to $30,000 to deliver restoration projects developed through earlier planning.
“These programs present a valuable opportunity for communities to improve facilities for veterans and safeguard the memorials that honour those who served.”
Applications for both grant programs close on February 3 2026.
