Kim O’KEEFFE (Shepparton) (14:34): (1776) My question is for the Minister for Public Transport, and the information I seek is the reasoning as to why Shepparton has not received increased public bus transport services. Infrastructure Victoria recommended Shepparton as the number one area to be provided with more public bus transport services, yet this has been ignored. It is astounding that it has been over 18 years since Shepparton has had a bus service review, and during that time the region has grown significantly. With the recent rollout of the much-needed increased V/Line train services the region has also been desperately calling for increased bus transport services. Not everyone has a vehicle or can drive, and they should be able to access local public transport, and for many there are no other options. This is just another example of the neglect of the needs of regional communities, and we deserve our fair share of funding.
