Kim O’Keeffe, The Nationals’ Member for Shepparton District, said she was delighted to announce that Shepparton will get to launch the Women Economic Forum in November this year, an international event for female leaders.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our region on the world stage,” she said.
Whilst speaking at the event in Melbourne in 2024 Ms O’Keeffe said she invited the organisation to consider including Shepparton and Regional Victoria in the program for 2025.
“It is so important that you get to experience Regional Victoria and everything we have to offer,” she said.
Over the three days of the October 2024 Women Economic Forum she repeated her message each time she got to speak, which must have resonated with the event organisers.
“I received a call late last year that Shepparton would be offered the opportunity to host the launch.
“I am always a strong believer in showcasing our region more broadly which creates exposure and opportunity.
“Last year’s forum had over 200 women attend from all backgrounds and walks of life including international participants.
“I was so impressed by the format and the opportunity it gave to women to connect, learn and share, many of whom I have stayed in contact with.
“It was by far one of the most impactful events that I have attended.
“While we are still working through the finer details of the launch in November it will be jam packed with inspiring speakers and a well thought out program.
“It will also be open to our local inspiring women to not only attend such a great event, but also to share their own experiences.”
Ms O’Keeffe said to have such a prominent international event locally is very exciting.
“We know that participants will come from far and wide including international participants.
“We will also be looking for some sponsors to support the event.”
Further details will be announced over the early stages of 2025.
