In celebration of National Volunteer Week, The Nationals Member for Shepparton District Kim O’Keeffe has emphasised the importance of volunteering in creating strong and supportive communities.
“Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference, and it plays an important role in building a strong and supportive community. It’s a unique opportunity to make a real difference,” she said.
This year’s theme for National Volunteer Week is “Something for Everyone,” and it highlights the range of volunteering opportunities available to suit different interests and skills.
“Whether it’s volunteering at a church, a sporting club, a service club or at local events, there is truly something for everyone,” Ms O’Keeffe said.
“I sincerely thank the incredible volunteers who dedicate their time to supporting others. Your work is truly appreciated, and I am incredibly grateful for the positive impact you make. You are the backbone of our communities.”
National Volunteer Week is a time to recognise and celebrate these volunteers. It is an opportunity for the people to come together, support one another, and continue making our communities a better place for all.
“As a passionate volunteer myself, I have experienced firsthand the sense of fulfilment you get when you give back to your community and the wonderful people you meet along the way,” Ms O’Keeffe said.
“I encourage everyone to explore the volunteering opportunities available and join in making a difference.”
