On the back of last week’s announcement that power bills are set to spike across the Shepparton District, The Nationals Member for Shepparton, Kim O’Keeffe, is encouraging Shepparton District residents to take advantage of the Power Saving Bonus.
The next round of the $250 Power Saving Bonus (PSB4) opens on this Friday (24th March) and eligible households, including those that received payments under previous rounds, are encouraged to apply.
“The cost of living crisis that we are continually living in is getting out of hand, and with a $250 saving off power bills can mean a big difference between families and
households putting food on the table or going hungry,” Ms O’Keeffe said.
“Households, small businesses and pensioners are all bracing for their power bills to increase in what’s expected to exceed by 30% next year, so I encourage everyone across the Shepparton District who is eligible to take advantage of the Power Saving Bonus.
Whilst this isn’t a resolution that fixes everyone’s pain for constituents right across the Shepparton District, its support and relief at a time when people need it the most
during a cost of living crisis.”
Those who haven’t yet applied for the current round of the Power Saving Bonus (PSB3), can do so until midnight on Thursday (23rd March).
Locals that need assistance in applying for the Power Saving Bonus, are encouraged to contact Ms O’Keeffe’s Office on 5831 6944 or visit in person at 5 Vaughan Street, Shepparton.
Shepparton Family and Financial Services are also providing assistance for Shepparton District residents in lodging applications for the Power Saving Bonus.
Residents are encouraged to contact their services on 5831 7755 or via email at sheppartoner@bffs.org.au.
