Nominations are now open for all six categories of the Victorian Senior of the Year Awards.
The awards shine a spotlight on older Victorians and the crucial role they play in creating connected communities and driving reform.
The six categories for 2025 are:
- The Premier’s Award for Victorian Senior of the Year
- Council on the Ageing (COTA) Victoria Senior Achiever Award
- Emerging Impact Award
- Positive Ageing Award
- Promotion of Multiculturalism Award
- Veteran Community Award
The Nationals’ Member for Shepparton District, Kim O’Keeffe, is urging locals to nominate a senior who is making an impact in their community.
“These awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise people who put in incredible hours behind the scenes, often without recognition,” she said.
“Our sporting clubs, community groups and charities simply wouldn’t be the same without the amazing contributions of our senior Victorians.
“They play a major role in connecting people from diverse backgrounds and bring valuable experience to everything they do.
“If you know someone who deserves a Senior of the Year Award, head online and submit a nomination today.”
The awards will be presented as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival in October. Nominations are open until Sunday, June 1.
Nominees must be aged 60 or older, or 50 or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Victorians.
