Disturbing footage has shown ambulances ramped outside of GV Health, and reports are emerging that crews were ramped for up to nine hours overnight.
The footage follows another horror Budget from the Labor Government with funding cut from Ambulance Services.
The Nationals Member for Shepparton District, Kim O’Keeffe, said the Shepparton District deserves better than underfunded and under resourced ambulance services.
“It’s frightening for members of our community to see this footage, not knowing if an ambulance will be available in an emergency for potentially lifesaving care,” Ms O’Keeffe said.
“Today, my office was contacted by a distressed paramedic as this situation unfolded at GV Health.
“Our local paramedics do an incredible job under enormous stress and it’s distressing to see this rate of ramping.
“Not only is ramping delaying care for patients in the back of ambulances; it’s also stopping our amazing paramedics from getting to the next job, which literally puts lives at risk.
“Local response times are still falling short of targets. We desperately need more support for our region’s healthcare services across the board.
“Our community and our local healthcare and ambulance workers deserve better than this.
“This is yet another example of how the Allan Labor Government can’t manage money, and our health services are paying the price.”
